Outsourcing is an amazing tool that is used to reduce cost and provide expertise to the business so it can focus on the core functions. Of course, like anything, there is a time and place for everything. The key is to look at the function in question and determine the time value of money. Who remembers that phrase from school?!?

Cost. Let’s just get the numbers out of the way. Most of the time, outsourcing is more cost effective than hiring someone in house. It truly is that simple. Don’t make it harder than it needs to be. Think about what your time is worth and the cost of your teams time and go from there.

Expertise. Are you an expert at what needs to get done? If the answer is no, then find someone else to do it. Running a business is stressful, don’t let the need to control everything weigh you down. Let go of job functions that are not your core focus.

Focus. When employers or owners try to do it all themselves it causes chaos among the team. Show your team that you know how to delegate. Show them that you want to focus on your strengths. It will earn you more respect and will provide them with more confidence to focus on their strengths as well.

This is the short list of reasons why outsourcing provides a great alternative for businesses. What we have found, is small businesses try to do it ALL themselves.
