After hiring a new executive director, a Charleston-based non-profit organization with about 30 employees turned to us for human resources outsourcing support. There was no one on staff in that role, so we could step in and quickly identify areas that needed improvement and begin making modifications based on time-sensitive priorities.
Our work began with the development of job descriptions and an Employee Handbook. Once those were in place, we designed an onboarding process for hiring new employees and gave guidance on best practices. We also created timecards for payroll.
Turning our attention to the process of annual reviews, we designed a system for evaluations and rewards, including an outline for employee development tactics to help with the experience of setting and meeting expectations.
From there, communication took center stage. We designed new protocols to increase information sharing through regular team meetings and emails. Spending time with the organization’s leadership allowed us to provide additional strategies for bolstering other human resources activities.
One year after our relationship began, they outsourced their social media to us, creating a business relationship that continues to evolve.
